As one of the gates to enter the area of Mainland Riau, Dumai city currently has been frequently visited by the tourists from all over the world, mainly those who make their transit from Malacca, Malaysia. Dumai can easily be reached from various big and small cities throughout Sumatera due to the availability of the proper communication network and facility, i.e. the Sumateran East Crossing main road, which link all Sumatera island from the north to south pole.There are quite numerous interesting tourism objects in the journey heading to Dumai, among others, the villages of Sakai ethnic, the flow of river with a unique reddish color like tea, the tropical jungle with the remaining beautiful dense forests, the oil and natural gas exploration fields as well as thousands of hectares of palm coconut plantation, spreading as far as the eye can see.
