Meat supply of cow, buffalo, goat, chicken including egg for people consumption in Riau Province is still imported from other areas in Indonesia. Investment opportunities in the sector of animal husbandry are still open wide, such as cattle fattening and breeding, and egg production. Business in these areas may be done both in the Archipelagic and Mainland region of Riau. Particularly for pig/hog farming, which is generally export oriented, the appropriated location is in the Archipelagic region, while location for others depends on their proximity to the marketplace.
