ENYENGAT ISLAND
Separated by a 1,5 km-long-strait from Tanjungpinang, this small but historic isle is rich with heritages from the Riau - Lingga sultanate of the 18th century. Among others are relic of royal palace, grand royal Mosque which is still well maintained and used by public, royal cemetery and former defence trenches during the war against colonial Dutch. While nearly the beach, an edifice with traditional malay architecture called Balai Adat Indra Perkasa stands facing the open sea.
